Asante sana squash banana...

I've just been reminded of a some very nice lines in the Lion King (in my opinion one of the best animated films to ever grace the big screen)

*Rafiki, the old baboon, just hit Simba with his stick*

Simba: Ouch! Jeez! What did you do that for?

Rafiki: It doesn't matter. It's in the past.

Simba: Yeah, but it still hurts.

Rafiki: Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.

Great movie. I love every bit of it. Not to mention hearing the voices of James Earl Jones and Jeremy Irons just made it an acoustic experience to boot.

one question though, who should learn or run from the past? rafiki or simba? if simba does not do something to rafiki, or does not confront him, or does not tell him not to do it again, then rafiki can go on until indefinitely hurting his friend simba, thinking that its just alright for simba to be hit by rafiki...

sorry keser, hehe

haha sorry i didnt include the next lines. Here it goes:

Rafiki: ... but the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it.

*Rafiki tries to hit Simba again, this time Simba evades the hit*

Rafiki: There, now what are you going to do?

Simba: First, I'm gonna take your stick..

*Simba takes Rafiki's stick and throws it away, he then turns and heads straight for Pride Rock*

Rafiki: No, not the stick! Hey, where are you going?

Simba: I'm going back!

Rafiki: Good! Get out of here! Get out of this place!

Simba was ran away because he did something horrible in his past. Now, he has decided to go back and face whatever consequences that might have meritted.

haha mas keser ako...
